Game Design Level 04 Journal


After I had finished reading  chapter 10 "Theory of Fun for Game" and chapter 20 from "The Art of Game Design." I kind of find them both to be interesting. After all, chapter 20 from "The Art of Game Design" talks about how that there needs to be a balance between using technology and art because it like it saying I would need to make sure that I just have engineers doing anything they want with the textures because it could lead to problems. Like for example if the engineers would change the shadow algorithm that would be anything within the month. But the most that this chapter says for  "The Art of Game Design" that kind point out is to be careful on finding an artist for a team because it like it saying to behave my eye out to the artist that will help out the team. Now for chapter 10 "Theory of Fun for Game", there is one thing that had stuck out to me because on page 170 it talks about how that some game is fun without having any audio like sound, music, graphic, and story which I can for having no story, and music is somewhat possible because Dark Souls does have no story, and music within its area of the game but I think it will be different for many players that would like to have better graphics, sound, and music.
